Alex Yalen has led many different lives. First, he was a journalist. Then he made a brief foray into screenwriting. Shortly after that, he tried to work in intelligence—an idea that started as a joke, but led to a job interview. Then he worked for a fine wine auction house. Ultimately, these false starts have been great things for the author. Aside from learning a lot about wine and espionage, he also realized that he wanted to be writing.
Alex has Bachelor’s Degrees in both Journalism and History from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He also attended the Master’s in Fine Arts Screenwriting program at the University of Texas-Austin. He boasts formidable research and narrative skill sets, and is looking to use them across media.
When he isn’t weaving stories together, he can be found playing bass and guitar at unhealthy volumes for local Los Angeles punk bands.
